Court Jail Naija DJ Over Possession of Illicit Drug [See Photo]

A self-acclaimed Disk Jocker (DJ), Victor Tzaddick Hobel, was on Thursday, sentenced to two months imprisonment, by a Lagos Federal High Court, for unlawful dealing in Cannabis Sativa, popularly called Marijuana.

Justice A. O. Faji convicted and sentenced the Akwa-Ibom State-born DJ after he pleaded guilty to a count charge of unlawful dealing in the banned weed by the National Drug Law Enforcement (Agency NDLEA).

In reviewing the fact of the case, the prosecutor, Mr. Jeremiah Aernan, informed the court that the 24 years old convict who is from Ibibio extraction of Akwa-Ibom State, was arrested by the Operatives of NDLEA with 100 grams of the banned weed, in November 18, 2016, at Ogbodo area of Atiba, Maryland, Ikeja, where he was selling it.

The prosecutor also informed the  court that the contravened section 11(c) of the National Drug Laws Enforcement Agency Act Cap. N30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Aernan also tendered the seized banned weed, the convict statement, laboratory test analysis report, and others which were admitted as exhibits.

After reviewing the fact of the case, and tendered the exhibits, the prosecutor urged the court sentence the accused following his plea of guilty and exhibits tendered.

In pronouncing the Judgement, Justice Faji, sentence the convict to two months imprisonment starting from the November 18, 2016, when he was arrested.

The judge however cautioned the convict to desist from act capable of making him to be in his court for another criminal offences, as he will make him to face full wrath of the law.

Justice Faji also informed the convict's father, who is cleric, to get in touch with the prosecutor anytime he find his son and gang dealing in drug.
