Miss Okota 2016 Beauty Pageant: Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Student, Mariam Ahmed Emerges Winner [See Photos]



Arigidi, Ondo state stood still on the 22nd of July, 2016 as royal fathers, celebrities and important dignitaries storm the town to witness the annual Okota festival. As part of the celebration, Olokun foundation, chaired by Otunba Dr. Gani Adams annually organize Miss Okota Beauty Pageant which is to engage the younger generation and serve as a link to their past. However, winners emerge as below. 

Miss Okota 2016 -  Miss Mariam Ahmed
School - Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic
Level - ND 2 gets a new car as the winner.
First runner-up Miss Uzoka Gabrielle will get price of #100,000 

Panel of Judges... Idris Bello (CEO Shybell Media) Shola Fajobi (CEO Nextmovie Star) Mr. Kunle Adeyemi, Lukman Akintola (CEO Octopus Online)  

Second runner-up - Miss Foluso Amos will get price of #75,000

The event which was witnessed by more than five thousands participants at Ayase Hall in Arigidi Akoko by the Olokun Festival Foundation, a frontline Cultural promotion organisation in Nigeria.
Those in attendance are HRM Oba Yisa Olanipekun, The Zaki of Arigidi-Akoko, HRM Oba Ipinmoroti Timothy, Oluro of Uro-Ajowa, HRM Oba Clement Omo-Ola, Oloso of Oso-Ajowa, Hon. Tofeeq Isa, Chairman, Ijumu Local Government, Kogi, Chief Femi Davies, Members of Oodua Progressive Union (OPU), National Coordinating Council of Oodua People's Congress (OPC), Sola Fajobi, Kunle Adeyemi, Mr. Idris Bello (CEO, Shybell Media), Mr. Lookmon Akintola  and many others.
 

Otunba Gani Adams in his words, cleared air on impressions some people are having about the pageant, whereby some rumour mongers are saying whoever that emerges as the Queen will never give birth to a baby. He said Miss Okota 2011 Beauty Queen, Miss Ayomikun Idowu gave birth to a bouncing baby boy in United States of America three months ago.

That the future of our race is determined by the amount of education and knowledge that the youths have about the race and culture.
