Strike Updates: Abuja Shuts Down as NLC Protests Removal of Fuel Subsidy [PHOTOS]

Business activities were in Abuja shut down on Wednesday following the ongoing protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, over the removal of fuel subsidy and its attendant effect on the pump price of the product.

Though workers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, were not very sure whether the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, would live up to their threat of shutting down the nation’s commercial activities in protest of the fuel scarcity, Witness Reporters correspondent went round the city and observed that economic activities at the city Centre, particularly around the Beggar roundabout, Wuse axis and Central area were at their lowest ebb.
Labour leaders lamented on the attitude of some workers who for the threat of “no work, no pay,” went to work this morning while their colleagues were on the street protesting for a common goal.
