CKA Founder Seeks Police Patrol in Schools

The founder of City of Knowledge Academy, CKA, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Mrs. Mosun Belo-Olusoga has asked government to direct the police to constitute patrol teams that would be going around schools and their environs nationwide. She gave the advice in her address of welcome at the official launch of CKA in Ijebu-Ode, saying such approach as part of security measures to safeguard lives and property in schools would in no small measure prevent students’ kidnapping in the country.
According to her, frequent presence of armed police men and officers on patrol around schools will not only prevent criminal elements from gaining access into schools but will also restrain them from kidnapping school children, the practice that is now rampant in the country. She said although there should be adequate security for lives and property of every citizen irrespective of their location, school children, as leaders of tomorrow, deserve more and special protection from the government. Speaking about her three-year- old co-educational secondary school which grew from seven students at inception three years ago to 31 today, Belo-Olusoga said she established the school as a way of contributing her own quota to the nation’s education development. According to her, sound and quality education is the best and unquantifiable legacy to bequeath any child.
In his own speech, keynote speaker and Chairman of Troyka Group, Mr. Biodun Shobanjo commended Belo- Olusoga for investing in the training of young minds, saying the rewards go beyond frontiers of a nation. He however sought the support of well-meaning individuals, corporate bodies and institutions for the school by sponsoring brilliant but indigent students to enable them to also enjoy the best kind of training available only in a world-class secondary school. Many dignitaries that graced the occasion included the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga; Ogun State Governor’s wife, Dr. Olufunsho Amosun; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his wife, Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi; the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona; Secretary to Ogun State Government, Mr. Taiwo Ifeoluwa; former deputy governor of Lagos State, Mr. Femi Pedro; elder statesman, Chief Ayo Banjo and Managing Director of Access Bank, Plc, Mr. Herbert Wigwe, among others.
